Steve was delighted to be asked to host the Amazing Wearside Awards in both 2015 & 2016. The awards were produced by the Konect Group, in association with Sunderland Business Network.

The Awards were staged at The Point in Sunderland. On both occasions, the room looked fantastic. After an introduction from Steve, he then introduced Sunderland Business Network Chair Sandy Cowell to say a few words.
Former Sunderland captain Kevin Ball then assisted Steve with the heads and tails.
In 2015 guests were then entertained by local girl Olivia Lawson. Olivia had recently appeared on BBC's "The Voice".
2016 saw Newcastle College Student Jess Harrison wow the guests with some musical theatre songs.
 
There have been many worthy winners of the various categories in both years.
The final award of the evening - City Champion 2015 was awarded to Harry Collinson. Gary Hutchinson – Commercial Director of Sunderland AFC took the accolade in 2016

In 2016 Fitness guru, and BBC’s The Apprentice Contestant Katie Bulmer-Cooke presented a special award to Paul Swinney in recognition of his best selling book – The Mackem Dictionary.
